Pond Excavation
We provide pond excavation and stock tank excavation for acreage in McKinney, Collin County and surrounding North Texas communities. We dig new ponds and rework existing ponds that have lost depth, accumulated sediment or need to be reshaped.
Pond excavation can include digging, grading, reshaping banks and relocating excavated soil elsewhere on the property. Existing ponds can also be excavated to remove accumulated material and restore depth.

Backyard access is often the biggest challenge on residential pool excavation projects. Tracked excavators and skid steers allow us to work in tighter spaces around homes, fences and existing landscaping.

Ditch Excavation

Our crew cuts new drainage ditches, regrades existing ditches, removes accumulated sediment and restores drainage along property lines, driveways and building sites. Where a driveway or access road crosses the drainage path, culvert installation can carry water safely beneath it.
Ditch excavation can also be combined with lot grading, swales and other drainage improvements to manage water across the entire property.

Residential Excavation and Backfill
Tight residential lots require excavation equipment and planning that can work around homes, fences, driveways and existing landscaping. Residential excavation includes foundation excavation, storm shelter and pool excavation, utility trenching and other backyard or small-lot dirt work.
Backfill is placed and compacted in lifts to restore excavated areas to a stable grade. Depending on the project and existing soil conditions, select fill may be brought in rather than relying on the material removed during excavation.
Once backfilled, the area is finish graded to match the surrounding property and maintain proper drainage. Residential excavation and backfill are available throughout McKinney, Allen, Collin County and surrounding North Texas communities.
Rock
Rock Excavation
Limestone is common beneath the clay in parts of Collin County and can complicate foundation excavation, pool excavation, utility trenching and other sitework. When standard dirt excavation reaches rock, heavier excavation equipment and rock-specific attachments may be needed to remove it.
Rock excavation can include breaking and removing limestone for foundations, building sites, pools, walkways, driveways and utility trenches. Because subsurface rock can affect the scope, timeline and cost of excavation, we look for signs of limestone and exposed rock during the site visit.
On a recent Collin County project, we removed roughly 15 tons of limestone that was blocking space needed beside a new home. The excavated limestone was kept on the property and reused for landscaping.
How we work
Excavator Services by the Job
We quote excavation as a scope, not by the hour. You send the address and what needs to be dug, along with any layout or spec from a pool builder, shelter company or engineer. We walk the site, look at access, depth and where the spoil can go, and send a written price for the whole job: the excavation, the spoil handling and the backfill if it is part of the work. Nothing starts before the price is signed.
Emergency and same day excavation is available when the schedule allows. A collapsed culvert, a washed out crossing or a broken line that needs to be exposed is a phone call, not a form.

Can you dig to my pool or shelter installer's layout?
Yes. Send their layout and dimensions and we dig to it, then handle backfill when they are ready. The excavation is scheduled around their delivery date.
What happens to the dirt you dig out?
That is decided before we start. On acreage the spoil usually stays on the property as a dam, fill or grading material. On a small residential lot it usually has to be hauled off, and that is in the quote.
Do you dig through rock?
Yes. Limestone is broken out with an excavator and a rock bucket. Rock changes the timeline and the price, so it gets identified at the site visit.
What is backfill and what do you use?
Backfill is the material used to bring an excavated area back to grade. We use select fill, a sand and clay mix that compacts tight, placed in lifts and compacted with a roller so nothing settles later.
